Fridah Lusesi
MSc in Education (Digital and Social Change)
Fridah Lusesi is a digital education specialist from Kenya, currently pursuing an MSc in Education (Digital and Social Change) at the Department of Education, University of Oxford. She is a Mastercard Foundation Scholar at the University of Oxford and a member of Wolfson College. Fridah is passionate about digital inclusion and the role of technology in equitable education reform.
She holds a BSc in Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT)—a journey that began as an unexpected placement but evolved into a life-defining mission. After graduating, she supported local schools in rural Kenya to install their first computers and begin digital record-keeping. She has since worked as a Systems Officer at Karatina University and later as Head of Systems at Africa Nazarene University, where she helped thousands of first-time users adopt digital tools for teaching and learning. Fridah has become a champion for the integration of digital literacy in Kenya’s Competence-Based Curriculum, identifying the urgent need for teacher training, learner mentorship and advocacy for equitable access to educational technologies.
At Oxford, Fridah aims to explore the intersection of society, learning and technology, and examine how policy and innovation can support safe, inclusive and ethical digital ecosystems. She hopes to contribute to governance frameworks that shape how Africa adapts to technological change and to research that examines its impact on cultural and natural heritage. Through this, she seeks to foster social justice and lifelong learning in an increasingly digital world.
