Kevin Wairua Njuguna

Master of Business Administration(MBA)

Kevin Wairua Njuguna is an actuary and financial risk manager from Kenya, currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. He is a Mastercard Foundation Scholar at the University of Oxford and a member of Linacre College. Kevin is passionate about developing scalable insurance solutions that protect vulnerable communities from uninsured risks across Africa.

He holds a First Class Honours degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Nairobi, where he received the Prudential Award for graduating second in his class. Kevin has nearly seven years of experience in the insurance sector, with a focus on inclusive product development. He most recently served as Associate Manager at Pula Advisors, an insurtech company supporting climate risk management for vulnerable households. There, he led product development initiatives, including a tropical cyclone insurance product for Mozambique, a digital human-wildlife conflict compensation system for Kenya, and multiple agricultural insurance schemes. His earlier experience at Britam Holdings and AAR Insurance included work on actuarial valuations, financial reporting, product development and business automation.

At Oxford, Kevin aims to deepen his knowledge of business strategy and innovation, while learning from a global community of peers. He hopes to use his MBA to expand access to insurance in Africa through inclusive, data-driven products that support resilience and financial protection.
