Michelle Wambui Mwangi

MSc in Education (Comparative and International Education)

Michelle Wambui Mwangi is a Kenyan educator passionate about the enlightenment of the African mind and heritage. She is pursuing an MSc in Education (Comparative and International Education) as a Mastercard Foundation scholar at the University of Oxford. She is a member of St Cross College.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy from Riara University in Nairobi, where she graduated as Valedictorian and received the Chancellor’s Award. Her interest in education began during her undergraduate studies, where she observed the significant impact an educator’s commitment can have on student success. After graduating, she returned to her alma mater as an Adjunct Lecturer, gaining first-hand teaching experience.

Michelle also brings skills in leadership, research, and information technology. Outside academia, she enjoys reading poetry. At Oxford, she looks forward to exploring the unique elements that make educational systems thrive in local and international contexts. Her goal is to publish research that informs positive policy development in Kenya and across Africa.
