Narjiss Tiki

Narjiss Tiki is an Amazigh scholar and aspiring university professor from Morocco pursuing an MSc in Modern Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Oxford. She is a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar and a member of Mansfield College.

She graduated summa cum laude with high honours in International Studies, with a concentration in International Development and a minor in MENA Studies, from Al Akhawayn University. Her undergraduate studies included an exchange semester at Uppsala University in Sweden. Her capstone project, which analysed the intersection of state governance, neoliberalism, and feminist movements, was presented at an academic conference and won two major awards: an Honorable Mention in International Studies and a Distinction for Commitment to Human Futures and Social Transformation.

Narjiss grounds her intellectual work in real-world policy and field research. At the Moroccan Center for Social Entrepreneurship, she served as a research assistant working on topics related to entrepreneurship in Morocco. As Vice President of the Moroccan Politics Club, she moderated weekly debates on pressing socio-political issues affecting Moroccan youth, ranging from socio-economic justice to institutional reform. She also served as a Steering Committee Member and Editor for STTAR, a student-led research think tank, where she helped coordinate interdisciplinary student conferences.

Driven to transform higher education and knowledge production, Narjiss aims to build a career in academia where critical feminist theory directly shapes grassroots change. She plans to build a Regional Policy Lab that uses hands-on, participatory research to centre the voices of workers, rural families, and African migrant women, turning lived experience into rigorous policy solutions. At Oxford, she is expanding her scholarship to help dismantle colonial disconnects and re-imagine Morocco as a thriving hub of African dignity, feminist solidarity, and youth-led intellectual leadership.
