Sepiso Mwamelo is the AfOx Head of Education and Training Programmes at the University of Oxford. She provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for AfOx’s education portfolio, including the AfOx Graduate Scholarships, Student Engagement, The Scholars Entrepreneurship Fund (SEF 2.0) and Alumni Engagement.
The flagship programme under the education pillar is The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, which supports passionate, locally rooted and globally minded African young people to undertake graduate studies. Key elements of the programme include tailored support and preparation for scholars before and during their studies, a strong focus on life skills beyond academia, and support for a lifelong alumni network.
