Vincentia Omowumi Omole is an electrical engineer from Nigeria pursuing an MSc in Energy Systems at the University of Oxford. She is a Mastercard Foundation Scholar and a member of St Cross College.

A first-class graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Ilorin, Vincentia has focused her academic journey on the foundations of stable power systems. She has published research on microstrip patch antennas and received multiple academic honours, including the PTDF and MTN Foundation scholarships.

Her motivation stems from firsthand experiences with energy instability in her community. Witnessing frequent national grid collapses highlighted how failing energy infrastructure can hinder hospital operations, economic growth, and human potential. Professionally, Vincentia has designed power distribution systems for oil and gas facilities at an engineering firm. Her internship at MTN Nigeria also gave her insight into the operational and performance challenges caused by unreliable electricity supply. Through these experiences, she recognised the need to understand the economic and regulatory frameworks required to drive sustainable energy security.

Beyond her technical work, Vincentia has served as a STEM Mentor with the WAAW Foundation, supporting female undergraduates in their academic development.

At Oxford, Vincentia is excited by the MSc in Energy Systems because of its integration of engineering, economics, and policy. She hopes to gain insight into how these interconnected fields can improve energy security and equity in Nigeria. Her long-term goal is to address the energy trilemma and advocate for resilient, affordable renewable energy solutions that empower and benefit even the most vulnerable communities in Nigeria.
