Wendpanga Isaac Romaric Boua is an experienced educator, part-time university lecturer, and Mastercard Foundation Scholar at the University of Oxford from Burkina Faso pursuing an MSc in Education (Comparative and International Education). He is a member of St Cross College.
Isaac holds a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Minnesota State University, Mankato, USA, awarded through the prestigious Fulbright programme. He brings over a decade of teaching experience at secondary and university levels, with a strong focus on language education and intercultural learning.
In addition to his academic work, Isaac is a skilled translator and interpreter. He has served as a language consultant for the US Embassy in Ouagadougou and supported international NGOs including Catholic Relief Services, XOESE, Tanager, and 4Development. His translation work covers areas such as gender, women’s empowerment, nutrition, and monitoring and evaluation.
Raised in a single-parent household, Isaac was inspired by his late mother, one of the first women in her village to receive an education. Her dedication to knowledge and teaching instilled in him a lifelong passion for educational equity. In honour of this legacy, Isaac founded Scholars Room Africa, a growing mentorship platform that supports over 400 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in Burkina Faso to access international scholarships and educational opportunities.
Beyond academia, Isaac enjoys weightlifting, organising barbecues, and singing. He also runs a popular cooking page on TikTok and Instagram, where he shares global recipes and practical cooking tips with an audience that ranges from children to adults.
