AfOx–Research Alpha Industry (RAIN) Fellowship Programme

The inaugural cohort of this fellowship will focus on the application of AI and emerging technologies in Energy, Agriculture, and Health Sectors, recognising the critical need for Africa-led research in these critical sectors. The AfOx-Research Alpha Industry (RAIN) Fellowship Programme is designed to allow exceptional mid-career African researchers to develop internationally connected, industry-relevant research programs in collaboration with Oxford-based scholars and Africa-focussed industry partners. Building on the established AfOx Visiting Fellowship model, the programme combines academic engagement at the University of Oxford with embedded research engagement in African-focused industry or innovation organisations, with the aim of strengthening the pipeline of research that directly informs innovation and industry on the continent.
